Recognition Roundup

We believe in performing at a higher level because it is the right thing to do for our clients, co-workers, and project partners. But we don’t mind receiving extra recognition for a job well done.

In October, we were proud to receive three awards from two local chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Congratulations to our co-workers and thank you to Valero and IMTT for trusting our team with these high-profile projects.

Valero Port Arthur Coker Structure
Our Valero Port Arthur Coker Structure project in Port Arthur, Texas, received an Excellence in Construction Award from the ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter and an Excellence in Construction Merit Award from the ABC Pelican Chapter.

Our co-workers constructed a four-drum, 55,000-barrel-per-day coker sulfur recovery unit from the ground up, safely, on time, and on budget. By driving the schedule to get the project done right the first time, we ensured Valero was able to meet their timetable for operations and maintenance of their existing coker.

IMTT Project Olive
Our IMTT Project Olive Piling Package project in St. Rose, Louisiana, was also recognized with an Excellence in Construction Award from the ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter. The project, which was completed by our Deep Foundations division, consisted of 318 pipe piles of varying diameters within close proximity to existing structures.

The variation of pile diameter, wall thicknesses, lengths, and sections of galvanization posed a logistical challenge to ensure the correct pile sections were fabricated, delivered, and installed at their respective install locations. Due to the limited work areas, along with other contractors’ ongoing work, this project took strategic planning and teamwork to ensure we drove the schedule in a sequence that benefited the overall workflow.
