Quality by Design: Meet Nicholas Aleman

Nicholas Aleman
BGCI Director of Quality

As our Director of Quality, Nicholas is charged with keeping quality at the forefront of BGCI’s processes and operations. Nicholas got his start in residential construction as a teen. After serving as a technical engineer in the U.S. Army, he worked as a carpenter foreman before transitioning to quality. He holds numerous certifications and is on course to become a LEED Accredited Professional and an ACI special inspector. A graduate of Everglades University, Nicholas joined the BGCI team in 2019.

How did you get your start in the construction industry?

I have been in the construction industry since I was 15, but I transitioned to industrial construction in 2011. I started in construction because I enjoyed working with my hands and seeing my efforts take shape daily. Now I love to watch a project start in its infancy and grow through to its completion. At the end you can walk away feeling proud of your part in its success.

Why did you join BGCI?

I joined BGCI because of the people and the sense of team I felt in my initial conversations with co-workers. I was also drawn to be in a place that would help me develop and grow on my continued path in the industry.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I truly enjoy the challenges of an ever-changing construction landscape and the ability to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry to meet the demands of those challenges.

What do you enjoy doing outside the workday?

Outside of work, I am a husband and a dad of four. I love to coach my girls and take the family hunting and fishing. I also enjoy a good whiskey and cigar on occasion.
