Co-worker Spotlight - Trevor Thomas

Trevor Thomas works as a Site Manager and has been with Baker Gulf Coast Industrial for the past 7 months. Trevor sees every day as a new opportunity to learn from his co-workers and apply what he learns in order to be the best Site Manager he can be.

AN ENTIRE CAREER IN CONCRETE & WHAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

When Trevor first started his career at age 18, he did not have a true path.  He ended up working with his father, as an Entry Level Carpenter Helper, at a plant in Georgia.

Through the years, there were ups and downs in the industry.  Trevor quickly learned that disorganized project sites and co-workers who were treated poorly were two factors he wanted to avoid in his career. To this day, an organized jobsite and respecting fellow co-workers are hallmarks of his work.

“We cannot do our work without people. From building forms to placing concrete, we cannot do any part of our job without people. To me, honor is doing what you say you are going to do. It doesn’t matter if it’s for the client or the people working with you, honor what you say. Even in a pandemic, we need to get our job down well. With grit, we bear down, finish our work, and move onto the next project.”

MORE THAN A SITE MANAGER, A FAMILY MAN

Trevor has a unique family dynamic with children ranging in ages of 3 years old to 21 years old. If he could snap his fingers and become an expert at something he would love to know how his kids think. “My kids are all at different ages and think differently from each other, I would love to know what and how they are thinking so I could understand them better.”
